From journalism, the College has expanded its horizons and made its foray into other disciplines such as Mass Communication, Business Management, Information Technology, Chinese Studies and Multimedia.

On December 02, 2014, Han Chiang College received a formal invitation from the Ministry of Education Malaysia (now Ministry of Higher Education –  MoHE) to be upgraded to a University College. The Board of Directors, Management and staff of the College are working tirelessly to fulfil the requirements laid down by the MoHE for the registration of Han Chiang University College of Communication (HCUC) to provide seamless, reputable, affordable and industry-driven degree pathways for our students within the stipulated time frame.
